
Recruitment - Project Manager: Cultural and Event Programming
Reporting to management, the Project Manager – Programming designs, develops, and oversees Bliiida's cultural and event programming, working in close collaboration with the venue's administrative team, particularly the production assistant.
They are responsible for the meaning, coherence, and development of activities (evenings, concerts, shows, readings, exhibitions, fairs, festivals, professional meetings, workshops, residencies, etc.) in conjunction with the project and initiatives stemming from the third-place venue: collaborative creation, cross-disciplinary practices, local integration, and outreach to new audiences.
Bridging artistic, cultural, and strategic considerations, they initiate projects, bring together stakeholders (residents, artists, companies, local associations, etc.), and ensure their structuring through to implementation.
They supervise and support the work of the production assistant, who operationally implements the projects.
Design and Management of Programming:
- Co-construct and structure an annual cultural program consistent with the Bliiida ecosystem
- Conceive and initiate projects (events, hybrid formats, key moments, co-productions)
- Define the framework for projects: artistic direction, objectives, formats, audiences, resources, timeline
- Ensure the overall balance of the programming (disciplines, formats, timings, audiences)
- Propose new ideas for artistic, collaborative, and experimental forms
Project and Partnership Development:
- Identify, mobilize, and foster partnerships with cultural, associative, institutional, and private stakeholders
- Develop projects in cooperation with residents, artists, and local organizations
- Contribute to seeking funding (grants, calls for projects)
- Contribute to drafting proposals, agreements, and presentation documents
- Manage the budget for each project: build balanced economic models between own resources (ticketing, revenue, partnerships) and public funding
- Ensure qualitative monitoring of projects and partnership relations
Management of Artistic Residencies:
- Define the guidelines and framework for residency programs (objectives, formats, hosting conditions)
- Select, host, and support artistic teams by fostering connections with residents
- Ensure consistency between residencies, programming, and the venue's activities.
- Monitor projects in conjunction with the production officer (who is responsible for operational implementation).
- Plan and promote project showcases: liaise with the communications department, invite professionals, organize public access, and integrate the activity into the programming.
Cross-functional coordination and project monitoring:
- Ensure overall project coordination in conjunction with the various departments (production, communications, technical, administration).
- Work closely with the production officer to ensure project feasibility and smooth execution.
- Organize and facilitate planning and monitoring meetings.
- Ensure effective information flow and anticipate needs.
- Make decisions and adjust projects based on constraints and opportunities.
Communication, mediation, promotion, and evaluation:
- Contribute to defining the content and messaging of the programming in collaboration with the communications department.
- Participate in project mediation, promotion, and ensuring their clarity for audiences.
- Monitor indicators (attendance, audiences, partner feedback).
- Participate in qualitative assessments and the continuous improvement of formats.
Candidate Profile
- Higher education in cultural project management, artistic programming, mediation, or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of artistic networks, national and local cultural policies, and funding mechanisms.
- Ability to design, structure, and lead multi-stakeholder projects – Proficiency in project management (methods, prioritization, monitoring).
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
Desired skills:
- Experience in partnership development and fundraising
- Familiarity with third places, collective intelligence methods, and transdisciplinary practices
- Knowledge of regional dynamics (Grand Est region preferred)
