La Maniérée

Biography
A 25-year-old artisan, she began her journey by studying art history and archaeology. Driven by a desire to reconnect with a more hands-on practice, she chose to return to the roots of her passion: manual creation. She then reoriented herself towards artistic crafts and pursued a BMA in traditional glassblowing, before continuing her training with an apprenticeship under Marie Flambard, a glass artist. Alongside her, she discovered and mastered the secrets of lampworking, developing a meticulous and expressive approach to the material. Drawing on these experiences and guided by a deep desire to create and share, she embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure, opening her studio on June 26, 2025. It will join Bliiida in September of the same year, a place conducive to experimentation, sharing, and collaboration. This project is fueled by the desire to introduce her universe, share her passion for art, and invite the public to delve into a world imbued with wonder and poetry.
Creations and Expertise
A versatile artist, she is both an illustrator and a glassblower. Her universe unfolds at the intersection of drawing and material, where imagination converses with reality. She accepts custom orders and projects, both in illustration and glasswork, paying particular attention to each individual's desires and stories.
Illustration
For illustration, she works both by hand, using alcohol markers and colored pencils, and on a graphic tablet. She primarily creates herbariums, delicately depicting flora and fauna, or small fantastical characters, evolving in a wonderful, gentle, and childlike universe.
Glass
In parallel, her glasswork gives rise to sculptures inspired by flora and fauna.
Fusion of Materials
Her main body of work combines illustration and glass within hybrid sculptures, created from found and forgotten objects. Through an upcycling approach, she gives them new life, transforming these everyday remnants into poetic narratives. This work questions our consumer society, the passage of time, and imagines a world where humanity has disappeared, leaving behind objects overgrown and reclaimed by nature, the sole silent witnesses of our existence.
She also creates scenic tableaux, in which small fantastical paper creatures are placed within entirely three-dimensional glass settings. These delicate vignettes tell strange and amusing adventures, suspended between dream and narrative.
Through each of her creations, she seeks to tell stories, convey poetry, and invite the viewer to contemplate a sensitive world where imagination, material, and time intertwine.
