The Constellations de Metz Nights

The program for these two opening nights includes: local artists, prominent electronic music acts, DJ sets, live performances, and an artistic residency presentation.
THURSDAY, JUNE 25 FROM 6:30 PM TO 12:30 AM
LB AKA LABAT (LIVE)

LB aka LABAT brilliantly embodies this generation of DJ-producers who shatter genre boundaries. A vibrant standard-bearer for a new wave celebrating club culture in all its diversity, he fuses filtered house, techno, UKG, and hard house into euphoric and melancholic dance machines. His sets, like his productions, boldly bridge the feverish memories of 90s old-school raves and the mutant hybridizations of contemporary dance music.
Originally from Strasbourg, he grew up between France and India. At just 7 years old, he started mixing, inheriting the turntables from his older brother, a hip-hop and scratch enthusiast. At 20, he began playing his first international gigs and settled in Lyon, where he started a residency at Café Galerie and fully dedicated himself to DJing. This was quickly followed by an invitation to play at Nuits Sonores, and then his first Boiler Room. Since then, he hasn't stopped touring!
CHAPELIER FOU

Since 2009, Chapelier Fou has unveiled a powerful and captivating universe, with gentle compositions where instruments blend with electronic programming. In another era, one might have simply called it 'electronica' to describe this fusion of organic phrasing and synthetic rhythms, this layering of atmospheres and emotions.
Between his various projects, the DIY artist also enjoys playing off-the-beaten-path DJ sets with pleasure and playfulness, like a nerd intoxicated by beats. In fact, he uses software he developed himself during his DJ sets, which are more like carefully curated mash-ups than simple sequences of selections.
DAME AREA

Hailing from Barcelona, Dame Area has left audiences breathless and awestruck across Europe and America, playing around 300 concerts and generating a consensus: they are one of the best live acts of the moment. They have performed at festivals such as Atonal, CTM, Nuits Sonores, Grauzone, Dour, Fusion, and Eurosonic, in legendary clubs like Berghain, Tresor, Apolo, and recently a session at the famous KEXP in Seattle, leaving the lasting impression that few electronic artists are as direct as this Catalan/Italian duo. They represent an eclectic and insightful form of contemporary industrial music, deploying compulsive minimal synths and primal polyrhythms, as well as uniquely reconstructed elements of post-punk and EBM. An artistic identity that embraces influence while avoiding compromise, changing flavors but not essence from one release to the next.
FRIDAY, JUNE 26 FROM 6 PM TO 2 AM
CASSIUS

A symbolic return. What better way to reignite the Cassius flame than the Paris 2024 Olympic Games? Logically extinguished after the tragic death of Philippe "Zdar" Cerboneschi in June 2019, it now burns brightly again, thanks to the determination of Hubert "BoomBass" Blanc-Francard, the other half of the duo, to revive this legendary name in French Touch music. And not just on September 8th during the Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony, which marks the first appearance of this reinvented Cassius. The catalyst for this true reconstruction came during the many DJ sets Hubert performed in recent months, both in France and abroad, as a trio with his two accomplices Étienne de Crécy and Falcon. The enthusiastic public reactions when he played Cassius hits ("Feeling For You", "I'm a Woman", "I <3 U SO" among others) convinced him that the story couldn't end there. With the certainty that a name still resonating on dancefloors worldwide shouldn't be allowed to fade, BoomBass is launching the grand return of Cassius at the end of 2024. This includes the release of a best-of album on October 11th, as well as the first Cassius Club date a few days earlier, on the 9th at Rex Club in Paris. This concept will soon be rolled out on dancefloors worldwide, where Hubert will be joined by his many friends and new talents. With many surprises planned for 2025. The tagline "Cassius rockin’ non-stop since 1999" is relevant once again.
MARIE MADELEINE

MARIE MADELEINE never dies!
Following an organic TikTok buzz around their track SWIMMING POOL, the double-platinum certified group has been touring France, Europe, and America for several years to perform for and connect with their audience.
Always keen to connect with their dedicated fanbase, MM is currently touring with DJ sets. Nu Disco, Dark Disco, House, Techno, and much more, MM's sets transport you into a smooth and sensual atmosphere.
CAPRICE

Caprice is an electro/coldwave duo formed by Romain Muller and Léna Angster, where fire smolders beneath the ice: their cold and synthetic sounds prove to be intensely hypnotic and danceable.
Léna Angster's voice, as soft as it is powerful, illuminates the shadowy soundscapes created by the duo. Between melancholic poetry and introspective reflections, their lyrics explore themes of disillusionment with a sensitivity that resonates deeply.
DJ STARTUP

Simon Lahure, aka DJ Startup, creates dance music that is joyful, captivating, and hybrid, blending breakbeat rhythms with big beat, IDM, and UK garage influences, along with elements of folk music and video game soundtracks.
Inspired by both contemporary traditional music and the conventions of music for visuals, DJ Startup crafts sets where the energy of rave music is adorned with the imagery of fairy tales.
Since 2022, Simon has been developing an immersive quadraphonic live show, designed to be as close to the audience as possible. Thanks to custom-built MIDI racks, each performance becomes a sensory and festive experience, where the sonic narrative is lived collectively.
KABEAUSHÉ

A radical and unclassifiable pop artist, Kabochi Gitau, aka Kabeaushé, crafts a rich and immersive body of work, at the crossroads of Nairobi and Berlin. As a singer, rapper, and producer, he seamlessly blends baroque, rock, hip-hop, film scores, and pop into an intense and coherent universe, drawing inspiration from cinema and other visual arts. A captivating performer, Kabeaushé designs each concert as a living, sensory experience, where spontaneity and physical intensity are essential. Fueled by an eclectic culture and insatiable curiosity, he develops a unique artistic language that is both hyper-contemporary and profoundly human.
